The Hardwick
Stephen learnt his craft at several of London’s top restaurants, including Marco Pierre White’s legendary Harvey’s and Michel Roux’s La Gavroche, both three Michelin Star establishments.
In 2001, Stephen was approached to purchase the renowned Walnut Tree near Abergavenny where he won a Michelin star the following year. In 2005, Stephen purchased The Horse and Jockey Inn just outside Abergavenny and just four weeks later re-opened it as the Hardwick. The Hardwick has gone from strength to strength and it is now one of Wales’ finest culinary destinations, winning numerous awards including AA Hospitality Awards Restaurant of the Year Wales 2010-2011 and ranked Number 13 in the National Restaurant Awards 2010.
