Steller line-up of star chefs announced for Chefs’ Night Out 2015
A stellar line-up of star chefs from in and around Wales taking part in this year’s Chefs’ Night Out in aid of Tŷ Hafan Children’s Hospice, has been announced.
The 14-strong cast, including Michelin Star chefs Hwyel Jones, James Sommerin, and Stephen Terry, will be demonstrating their art at the Gala Dinner being held at the Parc Hotel Cardiff on January 31st.
Featuring special guest, 2014 Masterchef Champion, Ping Coombes, the event, being hosted and supported by The Parc Hotel for a second time, has raised over £300,000 for Tŷ Hafan since its first staging in 2010.
David Loosemore who co-organises the event with Huw Edwards said: “We cannot thank our hugely busy and wonderful chefs enough for giving their time to provide a unique 4-course dining experience for our guests.”
Ben Underwood, General Manager of The Parc Hotel said: “We are proud to be once more working with these incredible Welsh chefs to ensure this important not-for-profit event generates maximum funds for Tŷ Hafan. The fact that we have selected Tŷ Hafan as our charity of the year, makes Chefs’ Night Out even more special for us.”
As part of their participation in the event, four of the chefs James Sommerin, Stephen Terry, Hwyel Jones and David Kelman visited Tŷ Hafan and enjoyed spending time decorating cakes with children and their families.
Under the Chefs’ Night Out format, each chef creates a four-course menu per table with matched wine. Guests discover which chef will be cooking for their table at a reception draw on the night. Guests are also able to bid for a chef to cook at their own home.
Speaking on his involvement, Hwyel Jones, Executive Chef at the Michelin Starred Lucknam Park Hotel and Spa near Bath said: “It is a massive honour to have been involved since the first Chefs’ Night Out in 2010 and to have seen it grown so well. Having visited the hospice twice now and seen the fantastic work there makes you want to support it even more, and in terms of taking part with so many great fellow chefs, it is a fun night as well.”
